METU's medium of instruction is English, so students must prove English proficiency. You can do this with an accepted external score (per METU's current list) or by passing METU's English Proficiency Exam (EPE) administered by the School of Foreign Languages. Students who do not yet meet the requirement attend the English Preparatory Programme (hazırlık) before starting their department.
