How do the Ankara metro and Ankaray work?

Ankara has a rail network that includes the metro lines and the Ankaray light-rail line, which meet the city centre around Kizilay. You pay with an AnkaraKart, tapping in at the turnstiles. Rail is often the fastest way across the city and connects with bus routes toward METU.
