Weber, and so on) and their educational viewpoints; education in terms of the basic sociological theories (pragmatism, constructivism, symbolic interactionism, conflict theory, critical theory, phenomenology and ethnomethodology); social processes (socialization, social stratification, social mobility, social change, and so on) and education; social institutions (family, religion, economy, politics) and education; the development of sociology and educational sociology in Turkey (Ziya Gökalp, İsmail Hakkı Baltacıoğlu, Nurettin Topçu, Mümtaz Turhan, and so on); culture and education; school as a social, cultural, ethical system and community.
