Course content

The main aim of this course is to provide an introduction to the economic theory of human capital and its applications in the study of various topics in human behavior. Education will be covered only marginally since it is emphasized in Econ 693. The various other applicaıtions in this course include investment in children, fertility, fertility and development, discrimination, health, health and development, aging individuals and the society and various aspects of skilled and unskilled, national and international migration. The basic theory underlying these topics and empirical approaches to hypothesis testing will be emphasized.
