Course content
New and emerging themes in immunology and cell biology with an emphasis on the mechanism of action of recently identified nucleic acid recognition receptors and second messengers. Topics include: cytosolic RNA and DNA sensors, mitochondrial stress and DNA damage related immune responses, gap junctions and their role in host defense, recent advances in inflammasome biology, newly identified cyclic dinucleotide based second messengers and their role in host defense, importance of exonucleases in health and disease, the mystries of vault particles.
