Course content

The course covers a wide range of architectural detailing principles, with a focus on practical applications using BIM tools. Topics include controlling water and air leakage, heat flow, accommodating structural support and services, and addressing health, safety, and lifecycle concerns in detailing. Students will work on project development exercises throughout the course, including creating orthogonal drawings, 3D representations, and producing a detailed bill of materials. BIM will be integrated for MEP modeling and detail optimization, with a focus on sustainability, economy, and aesthetics. The course culminates in the final presentation of a fully developed architectural detail project.
