Course content
Potential flow theory, complex potential, flow around a cylinder, lift, conformal mapping, Joukowsky airfoil, aerodynamic coefficients, panel method. Thin airfoil theory, Kutta condition, Kelvins Circulation Theorem, symmetrical and cambered airfoils, flapped airfoil. Finite wing; lifting line theory, general wing loading. Slender wing theory, pressure distribution, aerodynamic coefficients. Prerequisite:AEE 244 or consent of the department.
